The Emperor

Andolorayne has been ruled by an Emperor since the first reign of Emperor Erutáthas in Year 1 AI. Emperor Erutáthas declared himelf chosen by Coteron to rule in life, and that it was decreed by the Gods that Andolorayne would stand all powerful for 10,000 years.

Since the first emperor, the line from Andolorayne to the Emperor has been unbroken. However, it has not always been passed from father to son, rather there have been several bloody coupes fought within the direct lineage of Andolorayne, but only an Elf, who can draw direct line of lineage to Andolorayne may sit as Emperor.

Historical Data

The Beginning

In the beginning, the Elven people were nomidic wanderers. They were divided up into large family tribes that wandered vast areas of the land. They relied on the land and nature for their sustenance. As these family groups would grow into the hundreds, often times they would split up into smaller groups, protecting themselves from over-grazing and hunting any particular area. These groups were one with nature.

As these family groups would continue to spread-out and grow, they formed loose alliances with each other, and great councils were formed from the leadership of these groups. These would eventually become the original 13 Elven Tribes. These original groups were mostly divided up among racial lines; High Elves, Wood Elves, Common Elves, Aquatic Elves, and Chaos Elves. They were organized into 13 Elven tribes altogether, comprised of 2 High Elf, 3 Wood Elf, 6 Common Elf, 1 Aquatic Elf, and 1 Chaos Elf. The Elves were at peace with the land and with each other, and for many generations, it was thus.

The City State of Andolorayne

in the year 1206 PI, The Great Sage, Yára, unlocked the secrets of the arcane, and began weaving and bending the arcane to her will. Able to do astounding feats, many other elves persued her study and guidance. A new era had begun. After many hundreds of generations, there was an awakening of the concousness among the elves.

Soon, the wandering ways of the nomad no longer seemed to be adequate. Many of the tribes soon began settling into areas, and started creating small villages. Farming, agriculture, and hunting continued to be the mainstays for life, but small schools soon took root, at first, these were for adults, as the thirst to unlock the arcane was ever powerful among the Elves.

Later, after many of the adults started to learn to unlock this power, many of the childeren were taught. The primary focus of these early schools continued to be the arcane, but eventually all of the ways of life were included, such as agriculture, art, and a new found interest, science.

As knowlege grew among the race, they continued to become more stable in their new surroundings, learning all manner of crafts and skills, and developing new tools, methods, and philosophies as they went. Soon, reliance on The Great Council became to much to resolve disputes and issues among the people. The Great Council decreed that it was too much for such a small group to represnt such a growing people and that a new form of government was needed.

They nominated people from various tribes to represent each group, and formed The Council of 13. This would be used to create rules, laws, and codes by which all members of the Elven group would live by. Membership was granted based on size of the tribe. Small tribes were allowed 1 member to represent them, while large tribes had as many as a dozen members. As a result, many smaller tribes banded together to form larger tribes, and the way of the nomad became lost from the race of Elves.

The people were organized into areas of responsibilities. Some would provide agricultural goods, while others would gather yet other hunt. In additon, duties were put on the tribes as well, to provide everything from art, to crafts, such as wood working, smithing, and magic crafting.

And it was thus for another 150 years, and the Elves prospered in the land, and grew to become a mighty people. And they called their new system after the Great Chief, Andolorayne, for they were all Andoloraynians. And thus began the Andolorayne City State. And they did crown Andolorayne their first leader, and did make him king.

The Early Wars

As the Elven people flourished and grew, they came to a knowledge that they were not the only inhabitants of the lands. For they found a strange and brutal race of green-skinned warriors who were also nomadic, and from time to time they would encounter these savage brutes. Soon, the Orcs were constantly harrassing the Elves and killing and taking what pleased them. The Elves started building fortifications around their villages and cities.

Despite these early fortifications, the Orcs were cunning and daring warriors, they would often manage to find their way into Elven villages. The Elves soon found a need to raise an army to defend themselves from the Orcs. Gone were the days of innocense and uncarring among the Elves.

At first the Elves suffered terrible losses in their battles against the Orcs. The power of the Elven Arcane Callers saved the battle on many occassions. After two generations of war with the nomadic Orcs, the Elves began to hold their own against the Orcs, as they sharpened and honed their own battle tactics, weapons, and knowledge of war.

Guided by great warriors such as Horthis and Bermaedhdur, the Elves formed a powerful army. They developed a unique style of fighting, based around the long sword, shield, and spear, others became adept with the longbow and short sword, while others specialized in the arcane arts of war. Together this formed a lethal combination.

Despite the terrible losses that Orcs started taking for raiding Elven villages, they continued to put pressure on the Elves. Always alert and weary of attack, the Elves decded to drive the Orcs out of their lands. Under the banner of Hérion the Elven armies marched into the surrounding areas and rooted out many of the orc clans who had taken refuge close to the Elves, for they found raiding the Elves to be easier than gathering and foraging for themselves.

Soon, the Elven armies discovered that hundreds of thousands of Orcs had taken up small camps and villages all throughout the surrounding areas. Routing out the Orcs was not going to be an easy task. For over 25 years, they made war against the Orcs as they pressed to Orcs further and further out of Elven lands. Soon, the armies of the Elves had victory in sight and were ready to crush the remnants of the Orcs, that was, until the Black Day.
