Telling Time, The Andolorayne Way
In Andoloryane, years are measured by the age of the Empire. Years before the Empire are known as the Old Age, and are counted backwards from 1 with the annotation PI after it to note that it is pro imperator, or before the Emperor.
After the Empire was formed, the dates are counted chronologically, starting at one, and have AI after, indicating that it is in the imperial date format. AI is Latin for Annus of Imperator, or Year of the Emperor. For example, Emperor Asornon’s first year as Emperor was in 2032 AI.
The year is divided into 4 equal segments, each of them a season. The seasons of the year follow the Earth cycle of Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. However, on Agea they are refered to as:
The Sowing (Spring)
The Long Days (Summer)
The Harvest (Fall)
The Slumber (Winter)
The seasons each contain 13 weeks each.
There are 13 months of the calendar year. Each year begins with the spring. In addition, each month is said to be ruled by and an aspect of a deity from the Pantheon of the Great Tree. They are also named in honor of the deities. In order, from the beginning of the year;
Days of the Week
There are 7 days per week. Each day of the week is named after an aspect of the god Giliath:
